Okay, I'm not going to lie. This month has been chaotic in the best sense of the word, but writing itself has been my safe spot in a whirlwind world. Here are some questions for the second part of  Christine Smith's  "Know the Novel" linkup I'm taking part in.  So without further ado, here we go! Q 1. How's the writing going overall? If you've ever been on a roller coaster, you'll be familiar with the "hills." This month has been a lot like a roller coaster. Hello there everyone! I'm in the midst of NaNoWriMo, so things are crazy busy but I did want to pop in with this month's Poetry 15th.  This month's poem was very difficult to compose. I know I wanted it to be about thankfulness, but I didn't want it to be just a laundry-list of things I was thankful for. Then I stumbled on a whimsical picture of a tree with what appears to be flying notes. I lost the picture but was inspired to make my own. Here is a picture I put together with clip-art on Canva. This is my first time joining the wonderful  Christine Smith  and a bunch of other wonderful writers in her three-month Know the Novel link-up for writers in these final months of the year. Hello! This month has been chaotic with an unusual amount of planning for next month's writing project so I apologize for the silence on here. Stories aside, I do  also write poetry which is part of the reason I look forward to Poetry 15th  every month. I had a hard time choosing the prompt for this month, but at last I settled on the unusual. This is October which has a long history steeped in weirdness. (I'm looking at you, Halloween .) Yeah, I know that it's not  Autumn-ish or even Halloween-ish or October-ish. No bright orange, red, or gold, but bear with me. Outer space is unusual too, and I love the stars!  Happy October 1st everyone!  I’ve realized that it’s been a while since I’ve done a post like this and I to let you in on some things I hope to accomplish this month.  So, last month I finished up character development for my WIP (work-in-progress),  Harbinger . I felt I knew these characters well after spending three years with them, but there were still secrets uncovered. A few of them fought me tooth and nail and it was a week before they gave in, but I feel so much better about them now. This month I would go into location development where I would flesh-out the locations in this book, but I’ll be working on starting a new project.    Tear  is the title of my NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) project that I’ll be working on in November. To prepare for this, I’m taking the entire month of October to workout the idea, doing some basic plotting and brainstorming so I can hit the keys running in November. I’m excit...

           I want to tell you something important. Life is hard and criticism is a dime-a-dozen. So why are you criticizing yourself and telling yourself you can’t do things?   Two months ago, I had a conversation with a friend. I talked with her about my writing. As we talked,   my fear surfaced, rearing its monstrous head. I told her I wasn’t sure what I was doing with my life. I feel like I’m interested in so many things. She told me, “You write, don’t you? Don’t waste your gift.”   So I want to challenge and encourage you: don’t waste your gift.   Some write, some paint, some take care of children, some work with computers, some garden. The list is miles long.    There are things you love to do. Those passions that make your heart sing and dance. Do them and don’t hold back.   Your gifts are blessings to this world. Hello everyone!  I know it's been rather quiet on here of late, but I promise you, another post is on the way. I've been wrestling with words lately, (they're not behaving themselves), and so I'm almost done with the next post. In the meantime, it is:  With Summer on the wane and Autumn on the way,  things are changing. The leaves are changing, hopefully the weather is getting cooler (not hotter), and I get to change things from Summer decor to Fall decor.
