NaNoWriMo Wrap-up: Know the Novel: Part 3: It is Written

Image
Hello!  Gosh. I just realized that December 2020 is almost through and I haven't quite gotten around to this post yet, so here we are. This is the "Know the Novel" wrap-up post completing the link-up that I've participated in the past three months with Christine Smith . Since I've procrastinated long enough, I'm just going to dive into the post. Here we go. 1. Firstly, how did writing this novel go all around? A:   Writing went really well! I actually wrote more this past month than I have for the past three months, busy school schedule and all. Weird, but I think my brain likes the pressure of a deadline. 2. Did it turn out like you expected or completely different? And how do you feel about the outcome? A:  No... Of course not. My brain took my plot and ran amuck. It's been very inconsiderate. Yes. I had a plot. Shocking, I know.   Well, considering I still have about two to three chapters left, I feel pretty good about the outcome, but there are still...

NaNoWriMo Know the Novel: Introduction

I can't believe it's already this time of the year again. Last year I joined Christine Smith   in her three-month Know the Novel link-up. This link-up starts the month before NaNoWriMo and goes through December. If you've been following this blog for more than a year, you'll recognize this series from last year. If you just started following me or are visiting this blog: Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. This month's theme is Introduction  and sets up the groundwork for what I'm doing today.  I've mentioned Harbinger  before. It's a WIP I've been working on for almost six years now. Over the summer I've decided to split it in three books, so now it's the Harbinger Trilogy. The working title for book one is called Sirens of Fate,  and it's this book I will work on for NaNoWriMo. I'm rebelling NaNo, meaning instead of doing this writing challenge traditionally and starting a book from scratch on November 1st, I'm using the c...

NaNoWriMo Wrapup: Know the Novel: Part 3: It is Written

Today I am wrapping up the writer's linkup I participated in the past two months with Christine Smith . Just a little note: while I finished NaNoWriMo, I did not finish the story. I'm still working on it, but I hoped to be finished by the end of this year. I just have a few more scenes to go. I will answer the following questions to the best of my ability. Q 1: Firstly, how did writing this novel go all around? A:  It was rough, I'm not going to lie. This novel has fought me every inch of the way and only now that I'm almost done has it been easier to write. Q 2: Did it turn out like you expected or completely different? And how do you feel about the outcome?  A: Well, considering it's not done yet, what I do have done has both turned out like I expected and it's also completely different. Confusing, I know. Q 3: What aspect of the story did you love writing about the most? (Characters, plot, setting, prose, etc.) A: Definitely the characters. E...
