Things I loved: 1. The world-building. I loved getting to see the differing beliefs of the various people groups, their customs and their way of life. I love the history of the world that was woven throughout, making the story more believable. The descriptions of the scenery were lovely too and at no point in the story did I feel like it was too much or overpowering. 2. The characters. Jennings My rating: 5 of 5 stars Available on Amazon.com Independently Published ISBN: 1723793027  (ISBN13:  9781723793028 ) Copyright: October 26th, 2018 A sort of anthology of short stories and poems, "Severed Veil: Tales of Death and Dreams" is so much more than a tiny book sitting on a bookcase. The collection has stories that deal with loss, the importance of hope, creativeness and so much more. A section that really stuck out to me was the poem, "Living in the Light". This poem was about someone who is trying to help someone struggling with depression or another difficulty. As someone that struggles on and off with depression and has tried to help her sister with it only to see her sister sink deeper and deeper with seemingly no help, this hit home on a number of levels. Goodness! It's been practically forever since I've posted anything, and I really didn't intend for it to be this long.   Last month was...crazy? Insane? Nearly impossible? Hmm...possibly all those things.  Last month, one of my sisters was married and I was in her wedding. It was beautiful. The weather was great which was a relief. The day before it was cold and windy. Since it was outside, I was picturing my sister, her wedding dress covered in dirt and dust, so I was relieved when the next day it warmed up considerably and there was just a light breeze.  The second thing of note was that I participated in NaNoWriMo.  I know...crazy. Wedding and NaNoWriMo? *deep breath* That was fun.
