Summer Reading Challenge

It's been awhile since this graphic has made an appearance, so I thought it was time.

One of my favorite things about the Summer Reading Program at our library was seeing how many books I could cram into three months. 

    There was one time I checked out fifty books. It was so satisfying seeing my car trunk full of knowledge. I didn't read them all, but I did read a great deal of them. What were they about? Mainly pirates and underwater archaeology. Because...research. I'm a writer. I research weird and wonderful things.

So, for this summer, I thought I'd post a little reading challenge. It's not fifty books. I wouldn't do that to you. If you are like me, reading is more of a challenge than it was as a kid, and if you read one or two books in a month, you are doing fantastic. This is just for fun. You can join or ignore.

So, here's the graphic I made for the challenge:



The idea is to read one of each kind of book by the end of the summer. I thought it would be fun and a good kind of challenge. 

I think I might post about how I did with this challenge at the beginning of Autumn or the end of Summer. It could be fun.

NaNoWriMo Know the Novel: Introduction

I can't believe it's already this time of the year again. Last year I joined Christine Smith   in her three-month Know the Novel link-up. This link-up starts the month before NaNoWriMo and goes through December. If you've been following this blog for more than a year, you'll recognize this series from last year. If you just started following me or are visiting this blog: Welcome! I'm so glad you're here. This month's theme is Introduction  and sets up the groundwork for what I'm doing today.  I've mentioned Harbinger  before. It's a WIP I've been working on for almost six years now. Over the summer I've decided to split it in three books, so now it's the Harbinger Trilogy. The working title for book one is called Sirens of Fate,  and it's this book I will work on for NaNoWriMo. NaNoWriMo: Know the Novel Link-Up: Introduction

  *Happy squeak!* I am so excited to be joining  Christine Smith  in her Know the Novel link-up for writers in this festive season of the year. What festive season, you may ask? Why, NaNoWriMo season, of course! *Flings glitter.* Many years ago, I did my first NaNo and started my wild ride or writing and an intense commitment to the craft that has lasted until this very day.
