Hello!

As promised, I'm back with a very important announcement: I'm going on my very first hiatus. I've been keeping this blog running without much pause every month since March 2019 and have decided that maybe it would be a good time to take a break.

So, effective immediately, I am going on hiatus for most of next month, coming back on the twenty-seventh of October for Christine Smith's "Know the Novel" blog tag. I'm hoping to take the month of October to brainstorm and outline my NaNoWriMo novel and to work on edits for my current one. 

What does this mean? Well, for starters, it means that next month there will be no introductory post, and it also means there will be no "Poetry 15th" poem or prompt. I'm hoping to take a much-needed look at how I'm doing things on here and come back on a regular posting schedule in November. 

I Need Your Help

This means I need your help. If there is something that you'd like to see me cover, a post that you'd like me to tackle, or something that just isn't working — I'm open for advice and help. Please leave your suggestions in the comment section below.

    Have a good haitus! I like to take one a year from my own blog, so enjoy the rest. I don't really have much suggestion-wise, but I always enjoy seeing your Poetry 15th posts. They're my favorite. ;)

Hello, 2022!

  Hello! So, I realize that 2022 began nineteen days ago, but I was waiting for results from a sort of poll I was running on social media. Now that I have the results, I can proceed with this post! Before I reveal any "words of the year" or goals for 2022, let's see how I did for 2021. Read 90 books in 2021? I actually read 100, surpassing my Goodreads Goal by ten books! This has been a number I've been trying to read for at least three years, but I've finally read 100 books in a year! Did I learn to draw a hand? Sadly no. A few months into 2021, I had a whole host of medical tests and drawing went out the window. I would love to start learning to draw again, but I just started a new job so we'll see if and when it will make its appearance in my life again. Finding Magic in the Day-to-Day

     Hello! Last month I talked about cultivating a sense of wonder, and this month, I want to go off of that and talk about finding magic in the ordinary.  When I was little, I loved stories of magic, of knights and princesses and epic quests. To be honest, I still do. I do wonder though, if in that search for the otherworldly magic, I missed the magic that is present in the day to day.  When the world sort of shut down in 2020, I was out of a job for months. One of the things I did was to go on more walks. It was a novelty for me to not be rushing everywhere, frantic to get from here to there. I could do nothing about my situation so I was forced to slow down. In that slowing down, I began to notice the world around me. To really notice. There was magic in every aspect of life. I didn't need a fairytale quest or magic that came with a whiz and a bang.
